It’s definitely not Elliott Delgado Weaver, the shameless flirt who keeps asking me out. We’re not supposed to run into each other in Vegas or get drunk together. We definitely aren’t supposed to wake up married…only, we do.

Before we can figure out what to do, Elliott’s family finds out. He doesn’t want to let them down by telling them it was a drunken mistake. My parents had the perfect marriage until my mom passed, and since I’d hate for my father to discover what I did, Elliott and I decide to pretend we’re in love and stay married for six months. Better to amicably divorce later than own up to our screw up, right?

All I’ve ever wanted is my happily ever after, and now I live with a serial hookup artist who never planned on settling down.

But then, why is Elliott so good to me? He takes me on dates, makes me laugh, and touches me like I’m someone to cherish. He’s shown me I’m a sucker for praise, and lucky for me, he loves giving it to me. Our marriage is playing tricks on my heart because suddenly I’m wishing my happy ending can be with the husband who doesn’t think love is for him.

This is book two of the Vers Podcast series and can be read as a stand-alone, but I highly recommend reading the first story as it was amazing. Knowing the back history of the friends was a bonus.

This was a cute take on that annoying drunk Vegas wedding that should not have ever happened. The beginning and especially the ceremony were funny and adorable.

I liked Elliott from the very first moment. He kept flirting with Parker, who was so annoyed by him. Elliott is full of life and never had a burning desire to settle. Happy with this career and close to his parents, Elliott has no complaints about his lifestyle. Parker, one of the close group of friends of the Vers Podcast has his dream bakery and the only thing missing from his life is a romantic partner.

Long story made short, the two men find themselves married and are more concerned about the ramifications this will have on their parents so they agree to fake the marriage for six months. The reasons go into more detail in the book and are understandable.

I just adored Elliott. For all of his bluster of never wanting love, the man is a natural. Parker is very needy and Elliott is his perfect partner for him. They enjoy this particular dynamic and start to get along. Both men start having feelings for each other but they are awful at communicating them. After all, this marriage has an expiration date and they need to face their fears before then.

The friends and families of both MCs were supportive and added to the storyline. My only tiny complaint was the non-stop terms of endearment but I understood the reasons behind them so I just went with the flow. I highly recommend this book and can’t wait for the third story in the series. Happy reading.
