We’re on tour with Stalked But Not Afraid by Nicole Dykes!
About Stalked But Not Afraid
He’s an influencer—whatever that means. He’s also stunningly beautiful with a feisty attitude I can’t deny intrigues me.
But more importantly, he’s in trouble.
I’m not like my brother. Except for being a cop, I don’t strive to save the entire world.
However, I find myself compelled to save him.
If he’ll calm down and just let me.
He’s everything I despise. He’s a cop. An arrogant tough-guy type who thinks he knows everything.
He drives me insane and won’t take the hint that I don’t want or need his help.
I’m not weak, and I’m not as defenseless as I once was either.
And still, I can’t seem to fully push him away.
Because maybe this time—just this once—I want to be saved.
~ * ~ Amy‘s Review ~ * ~
I’m going to be honest. I chose to review this book out of curiosity. Some of my friends had read another book by the author, and the blurb sounded interesting, so I thought, why not?
Before I say too much more, I can see why people seem to like the author’s books. The characters are engaging and the banter flows well. The reader can tell these characters are deeply flawed, but also very strong—even if they don’t know it yet.
I found myself quickly drawn in, but something was just not quite sitting with me, and I don’t think it’s the book’s fault. It’s just too intense for me. I didn’t realize how intense it was going to be because I don’t read reviews until I’m partway in on the book—maybe further. I want to develop my own opinion first.
This book didn’t fail me, but I also don’t think this book did anything for me. That said, if you like angsty, intense storylines, with characters you can become engaged in, this book is going to be right up your alley. I had no idea it was part of a series, but I have a habit of starting a series midway. You can read this as a stand-alone, but be aware it starts off kind of abruptly. As if maybe it really started at the end of book one. I can’t say that for sure, but it took me a few moments to catch up to the story because it was a tad more abrupt than I like, but it’s not a deal breaker.
