There’s no absolution for the things I’ve done.
But I found a way to control my impulses.
I became a priest.
As Father Magnus Falke, I suppress my cravings. As the headteacher of a Catholic boarding school, I’m never tempted by a student.
Until Tinsley Constantine.
The bratty princess challenges my rules and awakens my dark nature. With each punishment I lash upon her, I want more. In my classroom, private rectory, and bent over my altar, I want all of her.
One touch risks everything I stand for. My faith. My redemption. And even my life.
As if that could stop me. I need her pain, and her heart, and she needs my lessons in sin.
I’m going to assume that if you’re reading this review, you’ve at least read the blurb for Lessons in Sin, I’m going to try to keep it as spoiler-free as I can, but let me tell you, this book is not for the faint of heart and if you’re squeamish, you might need to skim through a couple of passages during the first half of the book.
I really enjoyed this book. It ticked a lot of my taboo-loving boxes: priest/virginal student; hot, possessive, protective alphah*le, older man with feisty, stubborn when it counts/willing to give in when it was worth it, animal lover, younger heroine, who didn’t make me angry at her. The D/s themes weren’t exactly light, and some scenes weren’t easy to read, but overall it worked well for Tinsley and Magnus. They were hot, hot, HOT together, and fit perfectly with one another. Tinsley was definitely an old soul and I loved that she was mature enough to handle a man like Magnus. And Magnus, well, the man was swoon-worthy, damn. *fans self*
This was my first book by Ms. Godwin, but it won’t be the last. I found her writing entertaining and engaging and it’s always a huge bonus for me whenever I read MF that I find the heroine relatable and likable.
All in all, Lessons in Sin is deliciously naughty, compelling, emotional and I have no trouble recommending it!
