Genre: M/M College sports romance

Hockey, studying, and school runs. That’s my life now.

After a tragic accident that took our parents’ lives, it’s up to me and my big brother to take care of our five younger siblings.

In between burning their meals and keeping them from killing each other, I’m supposed to get a college degree. It’s hard when I don’t have time to breathe let alone study, and if I don’t get my grades up, I’m in danger of losing the one thing that makes me happy: my spot on the hockey team.

Which is why when the new equipment manager offers to tutor me, I really can’t afford to say no. Even though I should.

He’s Coach’s son and way too tempting.

As this year’s equipment manager for Dad’s hockey team, I’m expected to deal with sweaty jock straps and herding hockey players to their rooms at away games.

The job is easy, but babysitting Asher Dalton is not supposed to be a part of it.

So why, when his brother asks me to keep an eye on him, do I agree?

Why, when he’s struggling in classes, do I offer to help?

And why, when we’re studying, do I suggest a reward system that lands us squarely in bed?

Asher’s trouble, I know he is. But there’s something about him that makes it impossible to stay away.

5 Stars!

I think Kole and Asher (especially Asher) are tied with Jacobs and Beck as my favorite couple in this series… so far. 😉 That said, for maximum enjoyment, I suggest reading the series in order. You’ll be missing out otherwise.

So, Asher seemed like the ultimate hotheaded jock in the past book, but I should’ve known better. His backstory was heartbreaking and seeing him and West struggle trying to keep their family together was heartwarming. They were under so much stress trying to combine school/work with raising their siblings that I just wanted to hug them and make it all better. I loved Kole and how he was able to see past the front that Asher presented to the rest of the world. He was Asher’s biggest champion and I adored how he stood for Asher to his father.

What started as a reward system to help Asher study didn’t take long to progress into more, even when they didn’t admit it until later. They were fun and hot and sweet and did I mention HOT!, because damn. *fans self*

This book was pretty much perfect. Even with Asher being (hopefully) NHL-bound at some point and with Kole going to Med school, I truly felt that they can make it in the long run, they’re just perfect for each other. I can’t wait for West’s story next and hopefully getting a glimpse of Asher and Kole in it. Highly recommendable!

5 Stars

We’ve reached book four in this really great series. While it can be read as a stand-alone, I’d definitely advise you to read the ones before. The characters are introduced in them but it’s mainly the fact that there are 5 books and I always think that series are best read in order.

We reach Asher’s story and as a character, he has stood out in the series as one that is complex and has given the vibe that there is a lot more going on than he wants people to see. The loss of his family, being drawn home, and being forced to go to college to help support his brothers and sisters has impacted him far more than anyone around him has realised. Kole is the coach’s son but that’s the only interest he has in hockey. However, a bet with his father has left him as equipment manager. Circumstances bring them together and attraction simmers, but as their worlds start to overlap, attraction turns to more.

I adored these two; in fact, I think they are my favourite pair. There is something about Asher that is mesmerising to me. The armour he wears to protect himself hides a slightly dented but beautiful soul, just looking for someone to see him. I loved how Kole observes him and slowly starts to see the guy behind the bravado. The chemistry may be electric but it is the banter between the two that really made the book for me. These two are funny, really funny. Kole handles Asher brilliantly; calls him out when that’s needed; listens, supports, and loves when that is needed. It’s a slow, developing relationship that starts as a piece of fun and turns into so much more.

A brilliant addition to the series, I cannot recommend it highly enough.

On a side note, when going to post my review, I noticed one that commented on it being unbelievable as there wouldn’t be as many gay players in one team. Well hello, it’s fiction and beautiful escapism. We want to go back and see our favourite people—that’s why we love a series. Bring on the next, I say…West’s story. I cannot wait!

5 Stars

Wow…What can I say? This book was so good! It almost made me melt, it was so hot. I wished that Asher and Kole were real so I could hug them.

Asher needs help with his classes and Kole offers to tutor him. When Kole becomes the equipment boy for the school’s hockey team, he never expected to find love. Kole gets an idea for a reward, and boy oh boy do things heat up.

This is the fourth book in the CU Hockey Series, and I just loved it. This whole series has stolen my heart. I look forward to reading more and highly recommend it.
