A cruise ship captain with an unbreakable rule. A dancer who tempts him to toss the rulebook overboard…

Will’s been burned before. Can he throw caution to the wind and chart a new course with Eddie by his side? Or will an interfering crew-member steer them into stormy seas?
***Yes, Captain is a stand-alone, steamy age-gap MM romance set on a cruise ship in the South Pacific, with a flirty dancer who loves pole dancing and his shy captain. Yes, Captain was previously published as Dance With Me. This re-release includes over 30,000 words of never-before-seen bonus content.

4.5 Stars

Sometimes you just want light. Sometimes you just want easy-to-read. Sometimes you just want a story about how two likeable guys finally find the right one. This is one of those sweet stories that gives you all of that.

Spanning a length of time that actually shows you the relationship growing, this is an age gap story about mcs whose past relationships left them a little bruised and not very trusting. These events are covered quickly in the early few chapters, but give a real insight to Will and Eddie. Meeting on a cruise ship, where Will is the Captain and Eddie is an entertainer, the spark of attraction is instant. Negotiating a relationship in such close confines isn’t easy but, for both men, it’s obviously worth it.

I’m not sure the Captain would have caved to his attraction so quickly but do I care? Heck no; the rest of the workings of a cruise ship felt very authentic. These two are sweet and sexy together. Their interactions are a nice mix of banter and emotion while they fall for each other.

I like a story which spans enough time to show the relationship develop, not just ‘ooh…I love you…the end’. These two’s HEA is sweeter for it.  A definite recommendation for me.

4 Stars

This book was a fun surprise. I was first told about it by the author when I posted a book request—in a Facebook book group—asking for books with a size difference between the main characters. I added bonus points if it bucked the stereotype of who fit what role in their sex life. This did indeed fit my request to the T. It also added a dose of swoon-worthy moments of tenderness.

When we first meet Will and Eddie, they are at very low points in their life. Then, throughout the rest of the book, we skip to different parts of their lives—up until they meet. I love how they became friends first. I enjoyed the progression and was happy when they took the next step. They were wonderful together, and sweet. Both men deserved happiness, so I was pleased when they reached their ultimate HEA.

I felt the way Ann Grech structured the story had a sense of uniqueness about it. I enjoyed it. I enjoyed learning about their past by experiencing it with them, instead of in conversation or internal dialogue. It kept me on my toes and gave me a broader personal of who these men were before and after they met.

This book is the second—well technically 1.5–book in the series, but can be read as a stand-alone. It was well written and full of great characters, minus a few… I definitely recommend it for a heartwarming read.

THREE HEARTS (A Rule of Three #1)

By day Ann Grech lives in the corporate world and can be found sitting behind a desk typing away at reports and papers or lecturing to a room full of students. She graduated with a PhD in 2016 and is now an over-qualified nerd. Glasses, briefcase, high heels and a pencil skirt, she’s got the librarian look nailed too. If only they knew! She swears like a sailor, so that’s got to be a hint. The other one was “the look” from her tattoo artist when she told him that she wanted her kids initials “B” and “J” tattooed on her foot. It took a second to register that it might be a bad idea.

She’s never entirely fit in and loves escaping into a book—whether it’s reading or writing one. But she’s found her tribe now and loves her MM book world family. She dislikes cooking, but loves eating, can’t figure out technology, but is addicted to it, and her guilty pleasure is Byron Bay Cookies. Oh and shoes. And lingerie. And maybe handbags too. Well, if we’re being honest, we’d probably have to add her library too given the state of her credit card every month (what can she say, she’s a bookworm at heart)!

She also publishes her raunchier short stories under her pen name, Olive Hiscock.
